New Odisha DGP vows to make police more accessible

Bhubaneswar, Nov 8 (IANS) Kanwar Brijesh Singh, the newly appointed director general of police (DGP) in Odisha, on Sunday said he was committed to bridging “the gap between police and the common man”.

The Odisha government on Saturday appointed Singh, a 1985 batch officer, who was working as the director of state vigilance department, as the new DGP.

“My first priority would be to bridge the gap between police and the common man. The police would be made more responsible in the coming days,” Singh told IANS.

He said the Left wing extremism activities are under control in the state.

“We would certainly try to curb the Maoist activities in the state and try to bring our people, who have been misguided, to the mainstream. Besides, more developmental activities would be carried out in the Maoist affected areas,” he said.

As the government appointed the new DGP on Saturday night, the incumbent DGP Sanjeev Marik went on leave before his retirement due in December 31, official sources said.

  1. Dear readers,

A good initiative and wise thinking officer.

Does undivided canara police force is something to learn from this officer, whose reputation is marred with curbing moral police, cow chasing, love jihad and communal violence?

Is sting operation Juliet by the Cobrapost exposed by BJP MLC Ganesh Karnik states that 60 percent of the police constables are from the RSS is true?

  2. Sharia Pandita,
The Cobrapost seems to have hired ex-employees of Tahelka to continue the political hit-job in the name of journalism. Let me know if they did any investigation on Bhatkala’s links with anti-national elements?

Sir,When Godhra was exposed by Tehelka sting operation, the BJP is long waiting to settle scores with his editor in chief Tarun Tejpal and finally nailed him down in BJP ruled Goa to suppress the truth.

If the Bhatkal link is properly investigated with ‘German Bakery’ blast, it will tumble more skeleton like late patriot Hemant karkare exposed the saffron terror.India won’t had seen more bloodshed like Godhra or Muzaffarnagar if ‘Anti communal law bill’ has been passed and if some heads are sacrificed.

Where else than Modi’s India having privilege of life sentenced convict like Maya Kodnani, Babu Bajrangi ,Swami Aseemanand,Pramod Mutalik roam freely like a state guest?

Why Modi’s government which talks ‘Zero tolerance’ on terrorism is silent on ‘saffron terror’ investigation? Why the Modi’s Home Ministers asked the Rohini Salian, special public prosecutor in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, has blown the cover on an open secret ‒ the state’s reluctance to prosecute saffron terror. Why there are hush-up Going “Soft” On Saffron Terror? Malegaon, Ajmer And Now Modasa?

The Malegaon blast case shows how political ambivalence and denial on Hindutva terror have been transmitted to law enforcement agencies. The main reason the BJP is afraid of saffron terror probes: they seem to point to the RSS.

Covering Up Saffron Terror: Closure of Modasa bomb blast case is just the beginning

Going “Soft” On Saffron Terror? Malegaon, Ajmer And Now Modasa

Although this is the first case with alleged involvement of several Hindu right-wing fundamentalists including former RSS members, to be closed thus, its linking cord with the fate of the Malegon blast case and that of the Ajmer blast case cannot be ignored.

MP blast’s most wanted Kaswa is RSS man: reports

The mainstream media which is looking for every opportunity to increase TRP rating a long silence over more than 108 deaths is still deep mystery. While Modi is busy scheduling is next foreign visit the Indians have looks like forgotten long ago.
