BANGALORE October 21, 2010: Mr. J Crasta, Mangalorean has become a member of the Council on Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Former president of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) Mr Crasta is also an entrepreneur in Bangalore.
The Union Finance Ministry headed by Pranab Mukherjee has selected Mr Crasta to the council, which would recommend various measures for accelerating the growth of the MSMEs.
Mr Crasta, also former president of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association, said the council has 11 members from government departments and six from different fields of government and industry. He is the only person from Karnataka to get selected to this prestigious body.
Mr Crasta is presently co-chairman, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), New Delhi, Southern Regional Council. He is also member of boards of various institutions and associations.
Mr Crasta is testimony to his sharp insights and original ideas on shaping the small scale industry in the Karnataka. He has been o the boards of Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore, International Chambers of Commerce, India, State Export Promotion Council and other bodies.
He has been suggesting various policy changes to the State government for the past two decades. He also played a vital role in formulation of industrial and economic policies of Karnataka. We all wish him good luck on becoming the member of the PM Council.
