Alice Pinto (88) nee Mendonca, ('Mendonca teacher'), former president of the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO), wife of the late Cyprian U Pinto (Choirmaster 'Shippa Mestri'), mother of the late Prof Bennett Pinto (St Aloysius College) / Loveena nee D'Mello (Canara Bank), and grandmother of Reuben and Runa, passed away early morning on Saturday, December 3, 2011.
Funeral cortege will leave the ancestral home 'Sangeet Saurab', Bijai-Kapikad, Mangalore for St Francis Xavier church, Bijai, Mangalore at 3-30 pm on Sunday, Dec 4.

Heartfelt sympathies to you and kids. Alice teacher was my tuition teacher, and Bennett used to give me guitar lessons. And both of them were wonderful.

| Condolences to the family. May her soul rest in peace. I recognized the name "Shippa Mestri"(Cyprian Pinto). Memories, my sister and I took guitar lessons from him in 1976. Always wondered about him. His name came up only last week in conversation with my children. |
