Bantwal: The name 'Panjikallu' matched the trade going on there. But the residents around were not impressed.

A pig breeding centre in Kunjarabettu in Panjikallu panchayat jurisdiction was causing environmental pollution, as complained by the residents around.

After a legal battle that lasted about five months, the state high court had ordered the eviction of the breeding centre from the place.

In keeping with the court directives, the centre was evicted from the premises by a team led by panchayat development officer Bhavanishankar. Secretary Narayan Gatti, president Gulabi, vice president Sanjeeva Poojary, member Vasant Kumar Annalike and others were present, in the midst of tight police security.
