Udupi : DCIB police inspector Srinivas C Meti, upon receiving tip-off from reliable informers, nabbed one Shaukat alias Sadak (40), son of the late K Mohammed and resident of Santosh Nagar in Karambali village in the taluk on a charge of 'matka' gambling.

The raid was conducted at the Balaji complex in Atradi, during which Rs 1,910 in cash, a Hero Honda motorcycle and 3 cellphones were seized from him. The accused with the materials seized was handed to Hiriadka police station for follow-up of the case. 

This raid was carried out by DCIB PI and staff under the directions of district superintendent of police Dr M B Boralingaiah and under the guidance of Additional SP Venkateshappa.
