Mangalore: As announced a day earlier that a second arrest had been made in connection with the murder of Vinayak, a security guard in a fish oil mill in Ullal, but his name was not immediately announced.

Now the police have given his name as Munaf (21), son of Abdul Kader of Kotepura. Earlier, Kabir (20), son of Suleiman, had been arrested.

From interrogation, the police have gathered that a unit of machinery was earlier stolen from the plant. The security guard had seen the duo place it back at the entrance of the plant. Fearing that he would disclose their identity to the police, they decided to finish him off. They executed the act on June 12 and put the dead body in a jute bag and placed it in a lane next to the plant.

Workers found the bag the next day and reported the matter to the police.
