Puttur: Thieves Break into Cloth Shop in Uppinangady and Strip it of Rs 33,000

Puttur: Two shops were broken into by thieves on Monday, June 18 night in Uppinangady in the taluk.

Thieves gained access through the ceiling roof of Ideal Cloth Centre located on Bank Street and decamped with Rs 33,000 in cash. Proprietor Habib has complained to the Uppinangady police.

They also broke into Maina Cloth Centre next to it, owned by Hasanabba, and rummaged the shop for money but in vain.

The police have suspected the hand of some locals in the break-in operations.
