Mangalore: In the olden days, students failing in the public examination could repeat the examinations only a few months later, thus sacrificing a year. But now they are being allowed to appear within a month or two, so that the successful ones could save a year and continue their education.
In spite of this easier option available, in the 20 centres in DK districts, out of the registered 2,437 candidates, as many as 131 abstained from the exam on Thursday, June 21.
Out of the 2,423 registered for the English language paper, 2,284 appeared and 129 abstained. Out of the 24 registered for Kannada paper, 22 appeared, with two abstentions.
On Friday, June 22 Social Science exam was scheduled to be held from 9-30 am to 12-45 pm. |
