Team Mangalorean - Suburban

Mangalore:  Rohit (18), son of Ishwar and Vasanti of Hosakadu Sheenappayyakodi near Mulki, drowned in river Nandini at Karnikere near Puchadi dam in Kilenjur village on Sunday evening. He has not been traced and is feared to have died.

Rohit, after studiying II PUC, had pursued ITI studies in Kinnigoli and worked in a private firm in Kuloor. On Sunday, he had gone to swim in the river in the company of a few friends. Although the river was not deep, the spot is known for powerful undercurrents, with depressions in some places. Residents dissuade visitors from getting into water here. They recall that some mishaps had taken place here in the past.

Diving experts and Mulki police have continued their search for him until late in Sunday night.
