Mangalore: A daylong seminar-cum-training programme on “Youth Leadership, Skills and Team Building” was organized by ICYM in Bolkunje parish recently.

In his homily at Mass, Fr Charles Menezes spoke on the role of adults in faith formation of youth. After the Mass, the programme was held in the parish hall.

Fr Charles Menezes, national director of YCS / YSM and Fr Vijay Machado, director-designate of Mangala Jyoti were the resource persons.  Parish priest Fr Hilary Lobo, Sr Natalia BS, vice president Harold Colaco and  ICYM unit president Melreeda Rodrigues were present on the dais.

Melreeda welcomed the participants, Rohith D’Souza introduced the resource persons and  Johnson D’Souza proposed a vote of thanks.

Fr Charles spoke on the theme: “Why should the youth come together and the effect of working in a group”. Fr Vijay spoke on the themes: “Today’s situation of the youth in the world and its analysis”, “Youth Leadership”, “Practical tips for youth work and youth ministry in the society”.
 
Fiftytwo youth participated in the programme.  The members of ICYM and YCS together drew an action plan for the year 2012-13. Certificates were distributed to the participants at the concluding programme. The programme concluded at 4.30 pm.
