Mangalore: The Southern Railway had increased the number of bogeys in the Mangalore-Verna (Goa) train no. 56640/56641 from 11 to 16 with effect from May 1.
The step was to meet with the holiday rush. Now, in spite of the rainy season, the railway authorities have decided to continue the arrangement for a longer time, says a notification from the Udupi Railway Yatri Sangh.
The association had requested the Southern Railways not to reduce the number of bogeys. In a letter to it dated June 14, the deputy commercial chief manager has informed Sangh president R L Dias that the train will continue to operate with 16 bogeys. |
