| Team Mangalorean - Puttur from Vishal Nekkilady
Puttur: Congress leader Bondala Jagannath Shetty has expressed surprise that the MLAs from Dakshina Kannada are not identifying themselves in the open with chief minister Sadananda Gowda. It was high time that, when DVS was facing a crisis, the legislators from DK and Udupi stood by and supported him, he said.
Such was Gowda's current position that it had led to a suspicion that there was plan among the BJP partymen in DK to dislodge him for power. Shetty also pointed out that the BJP workers, who staged demonstrations against the Union government every now and then, had not hit the streets in support of their man who had served as Puttur MLA, Mangalore and Udupi MP and state party president.
After having occupied such high posts, it was a matter of pity that Gowda enjoys absolutely no support in his native district. Moreover, energy minister Shobha Karandlaje, herself hailing from his earlier Puttur constituency, was playing a major rule in trying to dislodge him. Yet, no one was saying a word against her, Shetty stressed. |
