Beltangady: The functioning of Sanidhya stone-crushing unit at Andinje, owned by Dharmasthala Harshendra Kumar, had been temporarily stayed by the state high court on June 15.
The stay was granted upon a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Vasant Devadiga and others of Andinje. In response, Harshendra Kumar, through his advocates Chandranath Ariga and K S Prasad, had submitted that his unit was functioning by fulfilling all requirements within the legal framework.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the division bench consisting of Justices Vikramjit Sen and B V Nagaratnamma agreed with the defence arguments and vacated the stay on Tuesday, July 3. |
