Lokayukta nabs govt official with cash-stuffed envelopes
Bangalore (PTI): The Lokayukta today arrested a senior government official in the Education Department and Rs 95,000 kept in different envelopes seized from her purse during a raid conducted at her office today.

The accused, working as a Deputy Secretary in the department of Primary and Secondary Education was nabbed during a raid conducted on the basis of a complaint filed by the public that the offical was collecting money for sanction of seats in aided schools, Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta) Bangalore city, Shivashankar told PTI.

"We have arrested her and seized the cash which was kept in different covers with file numbers and the name of the schools written on them and also the respective files.

We will be conducting a search at her residence also", he said.

She was victimised!the fact is ,this money is for distribution among all the concerned officials.
It is well known that RTO ,Revenue and the Education department have in place a very systematic distribution /sharing arrangement of money collected through the agents among all who are involved.Chaprasi to CEO!

It will be interesting to note what action the department takes against the officer. We have seen in the past even with plenty of evidences the culprit generally manages to escape punishment. Will the media follow up?
