Puttur: Just when the residents around town were heaving a sigh of relief after the arrest of Santanam, who has been held responsible for several daylight thefts in the recent past, the news of a theft on Wednesday has created concern again.

Miscreants broke into the house of Sanjeeva in Madnoor on July 4 by entering it from the rear door. Gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 2 lakh have been taken away.

The owners of the house were away during the day. A case has been registered in the rural police station here.
