Mangalore: Department of Counselling Welfare Training & Placement, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte will be organizing a  Four Day  workshop on ‘Introduction to Therapeutic Counselling for Engineering Teachers ', at its college premises, Nitte from 9th  to 12th July 2012. This workshop is aimed at to empower the teachers to intervene meaningfully to help the adolescents entering the technical college in large numbers.
 
The inaugural function of the workshop will be held on 9th July at 9.30 AM. Dr. Malavika Kapur, Visiting Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore &   Former Professor and Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology, NIMHANS, Bangalore will inaugurate. The Principal of the college,  Dr.Niranjan N.Chiplunkar will preside.
 
The resource persons are Prof. Dr. Malavika Kapur, Dr. P.V. Bhandary, Psychiatrist & Director, Dr.A.V. Baliga Hospital, Udupi, Dr.Rameela Shekhar, Dean of PG Department, School of Social Work, Mangalore, and Prof. Shalini K.Sharma, Head, Department of Counselling Welfare Training and Placement, NMAMIT and Organizer of the workshop.
 
The number of participants is limited to 50 from all the engineering colleges all over the state. Many senior faculty from reputed institutions have registered for the workshop, said the Principal, Dr.Niranjan N.Chiplunkar in a press release.
