Udupi: Miscreants have fraudulently withdrawn Rs 1.74 lakh from a savings bank account with Axis Bank here.

Umesh Shetty, brother of Harish V Shetty of Bantasale house in Padoor, has complained to the town police here that a sum of Rs 1.74 lakh has been withdrawn without his knowledge on June 28.

Since the bank pass book and the ATM are still safe in his brother's custody, the card is suspected to have been cloned and the amount withdrawn.
