Manipal: P I George (86), who had retired after serving for many years as medical social worker in KMC Mangalore and Manipal, community senior and resident of Laxmindra Nagar here, passed away in Vellore, Tamil Nadu on July 8.

Hailing from Kerala, George moved to Manipal in 1957 and served as medical social worker for over 40 years. His late wife Grace was a popular teacher at Madhava Kripa School here. Both had earned a name as social workers.

He is survived by his three children Arji, Jiji and Shaji.

Funeral cortege leaves residence 'Ebenezer', No. 4, VI cross, Laxmindra Nagar, Manipal for Christian cemetery, near Mission compound, Udupi at 10 am on Tuesday, July 10.
