From Ishwar M Ail

Mumbai: Shri T. Gopal Belchada, retired Head Master of Canara Vidyadayini High School, Mumbai has passed away on July 7 in his native place in Kalyanpur, Udupi, due to illness. He was 70 and has left behind his wife and two sons. 

Belchada  worked as Kannada teacher in Kalachowki Municipal School, Mumbai, and was also a social worker. He served as General Secretary of Sasihittlu Sri Bhagavati Thiya Sangha, Mumbai; Secretary of Vidyadayini Sabha, Mumbai; Committee member of Thiya Samaj, Mumbai; Associate Editor of 'Thiya Jyoti ', a monthly publication.

He actively participated in various Kannada activities to strengthen Kannada in Mumbai and Thane district. Many leaders of Thiya Community, friends and well-wishers expressed their condolences.
