Mangalore:
Vittala Malekudiya, a Journalism student has approached the Mangalore University requesting for an opportunity to continue his education.

Vittala was a first year Journalism student, when he was arrested by the Anti Naxal Force on charges of having links with the Naxals on March 3, 2012.

In the beginning, the Mangalore University had refused Vittala from answering his exams for shortage of attendance.  Lawyer Shivakumar had filed a petition in the court requesting that Vittala be allowed to attend his examinations. The Court accepted his appeal and Vittala answered his first year examination.

Now that Vittala, after his release on bail from the  Sub Jail on July 5  , ever since then he has shown keen interest in continuing his studies. He had approached the Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University Prof T  C Shivashankar Murthy and requested him to give him an opportunity to continue with his education.

Prof Murthy has assured of a positive response in this regard.
