Report by Michale Rodrigues Team Mangalorean Udupi
Udupi: Raghupathy Bhat, MLA Udupi speaking with media persons on Saturday July 14, 2012 said that "There is unity among all the MLAs in Udupi, we will work unitedly for the development of Udupi. It is distressing that Haladi Srinivas Shetty was denied of his Minister-ship having been invited there. We have no objection of any kind that a minister post has been offered to Kota Srinivas Poojary, I congratulate him on the contrary. Haladi Srinivas Shetty tendered his resignation stating that he was humiliated and there is no question of looking back again.
I also wanted to announce my resignation but I haven't done so with the request of Haladi Srinivas Shetty. We thought of tendering resignations together just because we were upset and enraged. I will extend all sorts of co-operation to Kota Srinivas Poojary, being one MLA of the District Center. We will give all sorts of assistance to him for the development of Udupi. Kota Srinivas Poojary should have discussed the matter with Haladi Srinivas Shetty before taking oath, that's all".
"I don't believe that RSS leaders were responsible for denying Minister-ship to Haladi Srinivas Shetty. There had been some confusion due to the selfishness of some people somewhere. BJP has good prospects in the future too, it has done good work since the 4 years", he said.
When reporters asked Bhat about the position of MLC seat left vacant by Dr. VS Acharya , he replied that seat will be offered to a party candidate in Mangalore . "MLC seat is related to both districts. We have requested that it was given to us. But the decision rests in the hands of the veterans" added Bhat. |
