Mangalore: In a media release, World Bunts' Federation president Ajitkumar Rai Maladi has condemned the way in which MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty was called to Bangalore for the swearing-in ceremony and then dropped from the list of ministers.

Rai said that Shetty had never lobbied for a ministerial berth. It was deplorable that a man of loyalty, honesty and dedication like him, in spite of being a simple and amiable, had not only been ignored but insulted, which the Federation condemned, he said.

Rai described Srinivas Shetty as a model MLA for the whole country, having entirely put his stake in the service of the people. He had won the love of people from all communities, with his service indiscriminate of caste or creed. Shetty had shown others how an elected representative should work for his people and set an example. Whoever was responsible for the wrong done to him should be condemned by everyone, he has said.
