Mangalore: Social networking is the new trend and an excellent communication tool. Facebook profile is a good platform for the cops to deliver their side of explanation/story, thereby enabling the people to take a fair decision. Traffic police of Mangalore City have decided to utilize Facebook, a social networking site to deal with traffic related problems. The main intention to use this site is to create an awareness in people about road safety and other road related issues.

Right now the Facebook page has been launched on a trial basis, which will cover Pandeshwar, Kadri, urwa, Bunder and Barke stations, who are under the Traffic East Police Station, and Traffic West Police Station limits. This Facebook page will be strictly monitored to avoid any false statements and misconduct as it is maintained solely for awareness of the people.

Right now the Facebook has info only to cover the Police stations in the city limits, but later more stations will be added. Also the Facebook page will be updated regularly.
