Bantwal: A speeding mini-lorry laden with fish rammed into the official car of Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Abhishek Goyal on Monday, July 16 morning.

The SP was on his way to inspect the Nelyadi outpost on Shiradi road in his Innova car. As it went past Kalladka and approached Soorikumer on national highway 75, the mini-lorry hit it. With the force, the Innova car hit another car ahead of it, which belonged to Jagannath Shetty.

The SP's car was damaged both in the rear as well as the front sides. Shetty's car got smashed in the back, with a tyre getting jammed. Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap.

Traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time. Bantwal circle inspector Anil S Kulkarni, city sub inspector Shekhar and Vittal sub inspector Rakshit immediately rushed there and helped in clearing the jam.
