The court passed the order on July 5, according to police report, and that this is a deterrent against rash driving.

Rajesh BK on March 10, 2008 drove a city bus (route number 51A) rashly and negligently near State Bank of India main branch city bus stop and ran over a group of students who were waiting for bus on the footpath adjacent to the bus stop.

In that negligent driving by the bus driver, took away the life of two innocent young lives namely, Savitha (22) student of Mangalore University and Vikas (19) student of Matha Education Trust, who never thought that tragedy would strike them so young in life.  Pandeshwar Traffic Police had filed the charge sheet against the accused within eight days of the accident.

Only one sentence? Driver kills two and gets one year only. He should have got life in prison or may be noose. Next one may be life.

What kind of Justice served ?? Only solution for death caused by rash & Negligent driving - Repeat "RASH & NEGLIGENT DRIVING" is the Death Penalty for the accused - accidents that kill do happen - that is why it is called accident - but in this case we can infer that it is delibrate and tantamounts to MURDER - after a year and a fine of a paltry Irs 5500 which may be paid by the owners of the bus - he will continue driving Route No. 51 A and kill more people. Getting a DL in India does not required driving skills or road sense -

One year imprisonment and Rs.5500 penalty. Wow..hats off to Indian justice system. It is proved that this driver caused death of two people by negligent driving. God save our country. In India, killer's are glorified. Whom to blame? There are many lawyers to protect criminals and thugs.

Is one year imprisonment enough for killing two people deliberately?. This is mock justice. For rash and negligent driving is deliberate. The driver knows that it could lead to deaths. And even after knowing this he plays with public lives. The punishment should be so severe that it deters other drivers from commiting such a crime. The innocent lives lost cannot be got back but others should be protected from such incidents.
