Udupi: Daylight Theft of Rs 2.50 Lakh from Locked House at Mallar Kaup

Udupi: A house belonging to Rashida Banu at Kote in Mallar village in Kaup has been broken into by miscreants.

The theft took place during daytime, while the occupants were away. The thieves broke open the rear door. The key of the steel cabinet was lying in the room. Using it, they took away a gold necklace of three sovereign, two gold bangles of five sovereign and a pair of earrings, of total value of about Rs 2 lakh.

Besides, other household goods of value Rs 50,000 including a stove, cooking vessels and an LPG cylinder and other things have also been taken away.

A case has been filed in Kaup police station.
