Karwar: These are the days when most parents shield their children even if they commit murder.

But a father from here set an example by doing something required by law. Roopesh Gowda (22) tried to molest a young woman while she was returning home after computer classes in Shirve in the taluk.

He kept trailing her and as soon as reached close to her jumped on her and gagged her mouth. As he tried to drag her away, she bit his hand and escaped from danger. She ran home and narrated the incident. The family filed a complaint in the Mallapur police station.

On the other side, when Roopesh's father arrived home and came to know about his son's misadventure, he caught hold of him, gave him a thrashing and then handed him over to the police for further action.  Mallapur sub inspector Kusumadhar has registered a case.
