Mangalore: Chief minister Jagadish Shettar has sanctioned a special grant of Rs 30 lakh towards the Rani Abbakka festival to be held, says Dinakar Ullal, president of the celebration committee.

The committee had discussed the preparations with higher education and minister-in-charge of the district C T Ravi, who handed the appeal to the CM in the presence of a delegation from Ullal.

The delegation comprised MLA U T Khader, Dinakar Ullal, former MLA K Jayaram Shetty, Ullal Mogaveera Sangha president Sadananda Bangera, and Vincent and Ashraf representing the Ullal municipal council.
