| By Ishwar M Ail, Mumbai Mumbai : Like Kannada and Tulu, Konkani play is also having a leading role in and around Mumbai. “Lagna Pissche” a hilarious Konkani play written by Balakrishna Puranik Kasarkod (North Kanara) and directed by well-known director A G Kamath was successfully staged at Dr Vishveshwaryya Sabhagraha, Karnataka Sangha, Matunga (West) recently, by Ram Sevak Sangh, Shree Ram Mandir, Wadala on the eve of Silver jubilee celebration of Shree Bhadrakali Mahalakshmi Durga Honamma Seva Samiti, Khardanda, Mumbai.



Well-known Konkani stage artist Kamalaksha Saraf acted in this play as Phondu, a servant, Hari Shanbhag enacted the role of Masna Bhat and A G Kamath as Timma Mam. Vijayshree Kamath as Phondu's fiancee, Kala. Packed audience in the Vishveshwaryya Sabhagraha, watching the play very interestingly. This comedy play, dialogues, scenes, acting and the stage craft was appreciated and enjoyed by all those who watched the play. |
