Udupi: Shine Table Tennis Academy, will organize 'Inter District Level Table Tennis Tournament ' on August 11 and 12, 2012 at Indoor Sports complex, said Academy Secretary Sadashiv Shetty.

He was speaking with media persons here at Press club on Thursday August 9, that  the tournament will be held in different categories- cadet boys and girls, sub- junior boys and girls, junior boys and girls, youth boys and girls, men, women and veterans.

The tournament will be inaugurated by Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and Udupi district BJP Youva Morcha president Vilas Nayak will be the chief guest of the function.The valedictory function will be held on August 12 evening. Entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj Malpe and Purushotham Shetty, Syndicate Bank Regional Branch Assistant Manager, R Subamani will be the chief guests of the ceremony, he said.

Shine Table Tennis Academy started in 2007 under the leadership of Shafi Ahmed, Proprietor of 'Silk Hina', a popular 'Ready Made Garment Centre' .  With the intention that others should learn Table Tennis simultaneously with his son Misbah, Shafi Ahmed brought Sathish from Chennai for making provision for others to learn as well.  This paved way for Misbah SA, Rajath, Abhishek, Faran Iqbal, State sports persons to emerge as sports stars. Misbah SA  has won National Championship twice, he has won Gold Medal also.

Shine Academy opened its branch in Nippani in Belgaum, many sports persons are taking part in State Ranking Tournament.  The academy having organized a Coaching Camp  earlier, about 30-40 sports athletes had taken part.

Academy president Shaffi Ahammad, Joint Secretary Mohammed Fharan Iqbal, Misbha S Ahammed was present in the press meet.
