Mangalore: Diocese Hands over Hundredth Free Built House to Deserving Family

Mangalore: On the occasion of Post-centenary Silver Jubilee, the Catholic Diocese of Mangalore had planned to build 161 houses for the poor.  The 100 house was inaugurated and blessed at Ranipura church. 

The house constructed for Helen D’Souza, living with four children was blessed by Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore.  Construction work of another 37 houses is underway.  Besides  this, 28 more houses will be built at Mariashram church, Talapady  for the landless needy families.  The  laying of foundation stone for the houses will take place on 15 Aug 2012.

Rev. Fr Richard Saldanha, the parish priest; Fr Onil D’Souza, Director CODP; Naveen D’Souza, Vice President;  Felix Monteiro, Secretary; Parish Pastoral Council members and Ward people were present.
