Bangalore: Five persons died on the spot and another four succumbed to fatal injuries while being taken to hospital, following a ghastly road mishap that took place at Kabbalu near Kanakapura of Ramanagara district on Sunday, August 12 evening. The spot lies within the Satanur police station limits.
The deceased and the injured all hailed from Nagadevanahalli near Kengeri. They had been on a visit to the Kabbalamma temple in Satanur in a Tata mini-lorry. On their way back, the vehicle rolled off a bridge near Kabbala into a gorge. Speeding is said to be cause of the mishap.
The deceased have been identified as Gangamma, Eranna, Doddamma, Rajanna, Raju, Bharat, Nikhit, Lakshmi and Pavitra.
Four others were injured and they have been admitted to hospitals in the city. Their condition is said to be critical.
The police from Satanur visited the spot and took steps to take the bodies and the injured to hospitals. |
