Udupi: A sad case of a young woman having ended her life two months after getting married has been reported from Parampalli near Kota.

Pratima (20), daughter of Krishna Poojary of Parampalli, was in love with a young man called Prakash aka Pakka for about one and a half year. They tied the knot in Dharmasthala two months ago. He took up a rented house and promised to live with her. But he thereafter disappeared and his whereabouts are not known.

Severely upset over the matter, Pratima tried to end her life by consuming poison on August 5. She was admitted to the Manipal hospital in a critical condition. The treatment having failed, she died on Sunday, August 12.

Her family has blamed Prakash for her suicide. A case has been filed in the Kota police station in this regard.
