Bantwal: A retired teacher S B Kanniyuru from a place in Kanniyuru, Kanyana has decided to donate his body after his death.

He wrote a will in the presence of his relatives and friends during a simple programme held recently on the completion of his sixtieth year, at Kanyana Bharatha Sevashram. He has mentioned in his will that after his death his body should be donated to KMC hospital for medical research purposes.

Body donation plays a critical role in education of medical students and other medical professionals. Donating body, is indeed, the ultimate gift of human concern. The ability of health professionals to care for the human body depends on a thorough understanding of human organs. Because no textbooks or model can substitute for human body in study of medicine, donated bodies are indispensable for teaching anatomical concepts to future physicians and health professionals.
