Udupi: Kuthyaru Yuvaka Mandala (KYM), organized a felicitation ceremony "Swarna Sambhrama- 2012",  at Kuthyaru Bhargava Auditorium, Shirva here on August 20.
Padmashree Chittani Ramachandra Hegde was felicitated by Kota Srinivas Poojary.  Addressing the gathering Poojary said, "Yakshagana is a fast paced art form wherein song, music, dance and dialogues are delivered in a prescribed format". It is believed to have evolved from pre-classical music and theatre during Bhakti movement.  Chittani Ramachandra Hegde brought glory to the Yakshagana by winning the National Award, he said.
 
Responding to the felicitation, Chittani Ramachandra Hegde said that the lovers and admirers of Yakshagana made him popular.  He urged the gathering to support the Yakshagana Artists.

MLA Lalaji R. Mendon presided over the function.  Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary was honoured by the Yuvaka Mandala on the occasion.

Parasurama Kshetra Managing Trustee Shambhudas, Kuthyaru Grama Panchayath President Nithyananda Shetty, Golden Jubilee Committee President Jinesh Ballal, Yuvaka Mandala President Guruprasad, Secretary Dhiraj Kulal, Dinesh Kutyaru and Mahesh were on the dais.

Arun Kulal read out the citation. Hon President Kenja Sridhar Tantri welcomed the gathering. Thonse Jayanth Kumar recited the  prayers. Kuthyaru Prasad Shetty compered the programme. Kuthyaru Navin Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
