Abu Dhabi, Sept 9: The "Bandra fair"  retains its flavour and September 8, 2005,  being the day of the Virgin Mary’s feast day,  people from different parts of Mumbai gather to show their love and respect  for Mother Mary in Bandra.  People from different faiths gather round to show their love for their Universal Mother.  A similar event called the  "Bandra Feast" was organized at the India Social and Cultural Centre (ISCC) in Abu Dhabi today -- Friday 9 September 2005.

The event attracted Mangaloreans,  Goans  and expatriates  from Mumbai with roots from these two places, and it was a sheer blend of two cultures.

The event was  sponsored by the well known  "Leens School and Kindergarten” – Abu Dhabi. The event started at 12.30 p.m and continued till late in the evening.  There were spot prizes, novelty dance and   a sumptuous lunch.

Mr. Thomas Varghese President of Indian Social and Cultural Center Welcoming the crowd(L); DJ Avito, entertained the crowd and kept on the dance floor(R)

DJ Avito, entertained the crowd and kept on the dance floor from the start till the end and the event was  compered Jonathan Rego. Jonathan a new talent in Abudhabi  ensured that the entire crowd was on the floor and  entertained the crowd with his talents right  from the start till the end of the programme.

Mr. Thomas Varghese President of Indian Social & Cultural Center welcomed the crowd and Mr. Robert Rego an active committee  member of Indian Social & Cultural Center urged the people to show unity by becoming  members of the Indian Social & Cultural Center.  He told the people  that Indian Social & Cultural Center was planning to move to its new premises in Meena very soon and expected co-operation from Indian expats in Abudhabi to have many more  lovely events like these in future.

The enclosed pictures captured would definitely reveal the fun and entertainment experienced by the people who gathered to witness this great event.  I am sure people would definitely look forward to more and more  programmes  in Abudhabi because it is not an easy task to arrange events filled with fun and entertainment.   Mangalorean.com wishes all the organizes its best wishes!
