Mumbai September 8, 2009: The feast of Nativity of Mother Mary was celebrated in a grand scale at St. Joseph Church, Mira Road today. There were three masses in English and Konkani starting at 7 am.

Rev. Fr. Ivan Robert D’Souza Assistant Priest blessed the new crop which was distributed to the faithful after the mass. The solemn procession was followed by the mass at 9:30 am.

Thousands of Faithful joined the procession accompanied by hymns and prayers, passing through the streets of Mira Road. The Procession was well organized by St. Joseph Konkani Association and the Pastoral helpers. Children in their white attire added the beauty to the procession.

The Solemn High mass was celebrated at 10:30am in the Church for Adults and for Children in the Community Hall. Beautifully decorated statue of Our Lady of Vailankanni was carried in a decorated vehicle with the band and faithful following it.

In his Homily Fr. Dominic Vas the Parish priest touched the current and burring problem of the Teenagers and explained how these problems later cause the division in their marriage life. After the mass children were given the sugarcanes.
