Mangalore May 16, 2011: Dr. Kaup Mohamed, the Dean and Director of the London American City College (who hails from Kaup, Udupi District) has been conferred with a Doctorate in Business Administration (Honoris Causa) by the Madonna University (MU), at the Sixty Fourth Commencement Exercises held at the Compuware Arena Auditorium in Plymouth, Michigan State, USA. 

The Madonna University is one of the best Universities as per the US News and World Report and is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, USA.  There were around 6000 people who attended this commencement exercises, in Plymouth, Michigan.  The Commencement Exercises 2011 was also attended by his wife Mrs. Aasheen Kaup and his 2 daughters namely Misbee and Manal. 

The Board of Trustees of the Madonna University , Dr. Sister Rose Marie, the President of MU, Dr. Ernest Nolan, the Vice President & Provost, Dean Dr. Stuart Arends,  and all the other Vice Presidents, Deans, faculty members,  staff members  and the Guests of Madonna University congratulated Dr. Kaup on receiving his Doctorate in Business Administration.  Dr. Kaup also visited the campus of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.

Dr. Kaup has spent his whole life in academics, education and research. Dr. Kaup was also bestowed with a Distinguished Leadership Award by the MU in view of his outstanding leadership in the field of higher education. He has been instrumental in providing international education to the students of the Middle East Region and India in affiliation with the Madonna University for several years. 

Dr. Kaup developed and assisted in the provision of e-learning facility, development of the academic portfolios and alumnae activities in association with the Madonna University. Dr. Kaup is also an Adjunct Professor of the Madonna University, Michigan State, USA. Dr. Kaup is also an effective counselor for guiding the students in choosing their career path & majors of the Madonna University.  Dr. Kaup is also an Advisor for the students pursuing their Graduate Program of the Madonna University.  Dr. Kaup conducts seminars for the MU’s online students and assists MU’s graduates for placement in the industry.

Dr. Kaup Mohamed is the only one person in Beary community holding 2 PhDs from NAAC Accredited Universities in India and 3 international Doctorates in Business Administration and Letters respectively from the USA & a Post Graduate from the UK.

Dr. Kaup has published several scholarly research articles and a thesis in strategic Management area and other allied areas of management.  Dr. Kaup has visited several countries namely USA, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, India, etc. for delivering his lectures.

Dr. Kaup has won several national and international awards. His current area of research interest is in Business Strategies, Operations & Production Management, Quality Management, Consumer Protection Law, Creative Problem Solving – A Total Systems Approach, Decision Making, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Project Management, Marketing, Strategies for Success, etc. Recently his paper on “Customer Relationship Management that aids in customer-centric processes” was published in “The Observer of Management Education” Journal.

Dr. Kaup stated that as a Hon. General Secretary of the Bearys Cultural Forum, he is dedicated to the development of the poor people of the State of Karnataka.  He is currently involved in granting educational scholarships to the poor students who are academically good and arranges counseling for the poor students for taking up a brilliant educational career in the State of Karnataka (in particular) and India.
