Bangalore, Jun 2: This could be heart-breaking news for many of her fans.

Coming to be called 'Garam Masala Girl' after starring in the movie of the same name along with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham and also 'Spicy Daisy' after featuring in Darshan-starrer 'Bhagvan', Sandalwood glamour doll from Kodagu, Daisy Bopanna, has quietly got married.

One would have expected her to marry a fellow Kodava, or even the event to take place in a village in Kodagu or the city of her current domicile, Bangalore.

Her groom is Amit Jaju, son of Prakash Jaju, former secretary of Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, and a senior manager in a consultancy firm. The marriage took place in distant Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

Daisy was born on December 4, 1980, in a highly-read family of intellectuals. After studying in Aurobindo School, she did her PU studies at Kumaran's College and later had a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Chitrakala Parishat (CKP), Bangalore.

Quite naturally so, Daisy wanted a career in advertising and also as a copywriter. It had always been her dream to set up an ad agency of her own. But somehow the entertainment industry seemed to have beckoned her quite early.

She did an impressive, de-glamorized role of a mother of an exploited child artiste in Bimba, a Kannada movie by Kavita Lankesh. It won international acclaim and awards.

Some of her other well-known movies are Rama Shama Bhama, Jackpot (special appearance), Aishwarya, Tavarina Siri, Satyavan Savitri, Gaalipata, Bhagvan and Olave Jeevana Lekkachara! (special appearance)

She has also done a few movies in other south Indian languages, like Kantri Mogudu and Sweetheart in Telugu and Chakkara Viyugam in Tamil.

She has also featured in about 150 ads, starting with the likes of Rajiv Menon.

In spite of her impressive performances in some of the movies, Daisy may have felt that her potential was not properly harnessed by the industry.  She always remained tagged to the glamour girl image instead of her histrionics.

Now, at an early age of 30, she may have called it a day.

Unless, of course, on a later date, she should make a comeback, as it has been happening in the cases of several artistes in the tinsel town.

Well, I think from looking at Daisy eyes itself I can understand that she is lady who believes in herself. She does not need anything else to show that she is leader, her eyes are mirror to herself. I wish her and her decisions all the best. I always wanted to see her but never got a chance, but possibly the god blessed couple will meet.
