Mangalore: Namma Kudla held a press meet at the press club Urva here on October 15.
Addressing the media, producer Mohan Karkera said that the first Tulu news channel 'Namma Kudla', operating for the past 12 years, had been telecasting the history and culture of tulunadu and highlighting the facts through the medium of TV. Namma Kudla is telecasting most of the programmes live, through V4 channel for the past 3 years.
On October 22, a Goodudeepa-making competition from 2 pm to 6 pm and and participants can bring the necessary items to prepare goodudeepa at Gokarnanatha Kshetra. Any organization or group can participate in the competition.
On October 23 'Goodudeepa Pantha' display contest will be held at 5 pm in the precincts Kudroli Shri Kshetra Gokarnanatha, where ready goodudeepas, including the ones made on Oct 22, can be displayed. It will be held in three sections - traditional, modern and special kind of 'Goodudeepa'. All the participants will be honoured with mementos and special 'prasadam'. Two prizes will be at stake in each section and the first prize winner will get a gold medal.
On October 23 Namma Kudla will felicitate three achievers for their contribution to Tulunadu. Dr Shantharam Shetty will be conferred "Namma Tuluver" award, Master Vittal will be conferred "Namma Kudla" award for his contribution in artand Prihali will be conferred Child Talent award.
The programme will be telecast live on Namma Kudla. On the occasion Chandrashekar Suvarna Mulki and troupe will perform "Tulunada Vaibhava". Dinesh Attavar, Vibhalakshmi, Mayuri Ullal and Jnaneshwari Joshi will perform the dance.
Kadri Navneeth Shetty, Prof M S Kotian, Leelaksha Karkera and Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli were also present at the press meet.
Goodudeepas galore at deepavali contest
