Mangalore: With over 150 companies from 11 sectors expected to participate, Alva's Pragati-2012, a job fair for post-graduate, under-graduate, diploma and ITI students will be held on May 12 and 13.

Around 25,000 students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and other neighbouring districts are expected to benefit from the job fair.

A website to ease the registrations for the job-fair, www.alvaspragati.com was launched by the president of Alva's Education Foundation, Dr Mohan Alva in the press club here on Saturday, April 7.

A pre-placement training for the students willing to participate in the placement drive will be held from May 5 to May 10. Trainers with vast industry experience will brief the participating students in the training programme.

No monetary charges will be levied for either the students or the companies participating in the job fair.

Union minister for corporate affairs Dr M Veerappa Moily will preside over the placement drive, Alva's Pragati-2012.

Trustee of Alva's Educational Foundation Vivek Alva, placement officer of the foundation Amith Shetty and co-ordinator of Alva's Pragathi - 2012 Arun D'Souza were present at the press meet.
