MIFT was established in 1996 and is affiliated to Mangalore University. It is our proud Privilege that MIFT is the first college to start up Fashion Designing College in the South Asia and the first to start up Detective College. Since 2012, MIFT is managed by Aroor Laxminarayana Rao (ALNR) Charitable Trust, Attavara, and Mangalore.

Security and Investigation system is most sensitive but it is true that no University has thought, or Govt. has come forward to set up academic system for investigative and security personals. For eg: there is no degree programme or academic course in University level  to support, these professionals like Law Degree for Lawyers, B.Ed. for teachers, MBBS for Doctors, Journalism for Journalist etc. But which degree to become a Police Officer/ Investigation Officer/ Chief of the Security? Commonly thy study general degree course and work as a chief of the Security or Investigative Organizations. Following this, to make strengthen of this sector, we frame the syllabus of Security and Detective Science Degree programme, which includes 30 subjects.

In which they have to study the subjects like Criminology, Psychology, Geography, Cyber Crime, Forensic Basic, Security Management, Fire Fight, Usage of Arms etc. This would make them perfect professionals and which inculcates the capacity to serve strong security and qualitative investigation to punish the criminals.

Private Sector:

There is demand in multinational companies in India and Abroad to be a chief of the securities. In addition banking, Financial Institutions, Industries and all other such organizations appoints as an Investigative officer or Chief of the security after this degree course.

Govt. Sector: You can write examination conducted by sate and central Govt. like IAS, IPS, KAS, NDA, etc to enter in to Govt. sector.

Own Business: There is a plenty opportunities in all over the country to start your own security and Investigation Companies.

It is needless to say that in a country like India, Where Textile and Garment Industries have been thriving for ages, the recent boom in Fashion Designing has led to innovation and new prospectus in the existing domain of garment and accessory design.

Employment opportunities for Interior Design professional and Social Work Professionals are plentiful in India. With this view MIFT includes the Courses like:

1. B.Sc. Fashion Designing (3 Years)

2. B.Sc. Interior Designing (3 Years)
