Shimoga: In a rare instance, a girl student entered the examination hall fully adorned in a bridal attire at the Kamala Nehru National College here on Sunday. As the rest of the students were drowned in tension as usual, this girl came to appear for the exam blushing.
The student, Kalashree, was in a full wedding dress. Apparently the 'muhurtam' of her marriage could not be changed to avoid the date of examination. Soon after the 'taali', the matrimonial ornament, was tied around her neck, she is said to have rushed to the examination centre.
Only after completion of her examination did she get back to the wedding hall to accomplish the remaining rituals and formalities. It left everyone in the wedding hall and the examination hall wondering if it could be called a rare wedding or a rare examination.
Kalashri was getting married to Venkatesh at the Gayatri Mangalya Mandir. She wrote her final B Com paper on her wedding day.
The examination candidate was brought to the examination centre by none other than the bridegroom himself, who, it seemed, did not want to part with his partner even for a while, except during the stretch of the examination. Venkatesh works for an electricity supply company at Shikaripura.
The onlookers were perplexed sighting a candidate in her bridal dress at the exam centre. However, as the news spread, everyone was unanimous in wishing the bride that she come out in flying colours in both degree examination and the examination of married life. |
