Mangalore: In commemoration of the 150 th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Sanskar Bharati organized the 'Chutuku-Chittaara' programme in the town hall here on Sunday, June 10.

Hiremagalaru Kannan who is a fluent orator and Dr B K S Verma, painter-artist of international repute, faced each other in a keenly contested battle of skills. If Kannan displayed his oratory skills, it was promptly and faithfully represented and recorded by Dr Verma by wielding the brush and bringing out the ideas in the form of painting.

Dr B K S started off the programme by sketching Lord Ganesha. Kannan suddenly emerged out of the audience and joined the former on stage. Then began the grand 'jugalbandi' of talk and art.

The late Dr Shivaram Karanth also featured in the programme, besides current topics like Baba Ramdev, Cricket and Anna Hazare. While some of the questions posed by Kannan were answered by BKS on the canvas through a picture, on the other hand, pictures drawn by BKS also waited for comments from Kannan.
