Udupi :
The district stands first in the state in the disposal of applications under the Sakala -  the Karnataka Guarnatee of Services to Citizens Act in May.  Second place is taken by Uttar Kannada. Third place is taken by Kodagu and the fourth place is taken by DK.

State panchayat raj department director Kumar P has announced the achievement list in May.  Among the 30 districts, Raichur stands the last. Chikmagalur is in 29th position. Bidar stands 27th, registering dismal performance.

In Udupi district in May altogether about 604 applications had been received and 299 applications have been disposed of.  For reason of non-disposal of applications, no officer of any department had been fined.  That means, within the stipulated time, all details asked for in the application have been dispatched to the applicant.  This is something commendable for the district.

Moreover, in Udupi district 1 lakh citizens  have taken 'under 51' forms, this is indicative of the interest shown by the people of the district.  In this regard, it is they who have brought 4th place to the district.

Kumar has announced this in a circular sent to Prabhakar Sharma, CEO of zilla panchayat. Not less than  11,043 applications have been received timely in the state in May, 8,496 applications have been disposed.  For population of a lakh, 18 applications have been submitted in the state.

In Haveri district,  maximum number of applications have been submitted, 739 applications have been disposed.  Raichur has the least - only 1 application having been submitted. Including one of last month, only two applications have been disposed of.

Districtwise ranking: Udupi, Uttar Kannada, Kodagu, DK, Mandya, Ramnagar, Haveri, Gadag, Bangalore rural, Chikballapur, Koppala, Chitradurga, Chikmagalur, Hasan, Kolar, Davangere, Yadgiri, Shimoga, Mysore, Bijapur, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Bangalore, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Tumkur, Bidar, Bellary, Chamarajnagar, Raichur.
