Mangalore: 'Swarnakamala' award winner film 'Byari' to screened

Mangalore: Speaking to media persons at the Press Club, Urva on 13 June, Karavali Bellimandala Film Society President Vijaykumar Kodialbail said that the 'Swarnakamala' award winner 'Byari' movie will be screened in the Ravindra Kala Bhavana at 5.30 pm on Saturday June 16 at  Mangalore University College here in Hampankatta.

Karavali Bellimandala Film Society Secretary Prakash Shenoy said that on the third Saturday of every month, artistic and interesting movies will be screened. Released in 2011, 'Byari' has been produced by T H Althaf and directed by K P Suveran.  The movie has been conferred the National 'Swarnakamala' award in the same year of release.

The undivided district of Dakshina Kannada and the surrounding areas have been given significant contribution  by the Beary community. The community's contribution on issues like Social, Cultural and Marital growth  has been portrayed in this movie. The movie is filmed in the Beary language, known to the people of all communities across the districts. Enthusiasts who missed seeing this movie in the theaters have one more chance to view it on Saturday.

Karnataka Bank President Ananthkrishna, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Producer Althaf Hussain and other dignitaries will be present at the screening. A debate pertaining to the movie will also be held.

Maladi Balakrishna Shetty, P Nithyananda Rao, Jagadish S Gurupura and Anil Navoor were also present at the press meet.
