Mangalore: Speaking to mediapersons in the press club here on Thursday June 14, researcher Mohan K Bolar said that the Tulu script released recently at the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy's Chavadi is to be questioned for its precision and relevance.

"Tulunadu being home to all castes and religions, every single person born here is a Tuluva. Anyone's good deed brings credit to the Tulunadu itself. So far, several people have proposed a script for Tulu. Now all of those scripts have been disregarded and a newcomer's proposition has been approved. It is not justifiable," he said.

Pointing out that the inadequacy of vowels can clearly be noticed, he wondered as to why the script had been approved in such a haste. He added that this kind of a script created ambiguity among school and college student studying Tulu.

Mohan explained and pointed several mistakes in the April 2012 edition of  GVS Ullal's Tulu alphabet. He has proposed that his modified version be considered as the official Tulu alphabet.

Vinod Rao and others were also present.
