Mangalore: A biography of Bethany congregation founder Monsignor Raymond Mascarenhas by Prof Stephen Quadras in Kannada titled 'Hombelaku' was released by Bethany Educational Society president Sr Wilberta in the Bethany hall on Friday, June 15.
Students of St Raymond's P U College Vamanjoor staged a prayer dance. Sr Rose Celine welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guests.

Sr Wilberta speaking on the occasion said, " Msgr Raymond Mascarenhas founded the Bethany congregation. His vision was education of children, especially girls who were the last, least and the lost ones."
Speaking to the teachers she said, "In classrooms we come across situations of conflict and crisis. We should work hard to handle these situations. When liberating mind and hand of a teacher touch the untouched heart of a child a miracle happens. You are needed to work such miracles in this third millennium."
She congratulated Stephen Quadras on the occasion on his initiative of writing a wonderful book. "This book will help the children and parents to stay bonded together as a family," she added.
Member of the council of management Sr Assumpta introduced the author and said that Stephen Quadras, in his book, has rightly portrayed Msgr Raymond Mascarenhas as a spiritual and secular leader. Stephen has number of literary works to his credit in English, Kannada and Konkani.
Provincial superior Sr Mariette felicitated Steevan Quadras on the occasion.
Quadras, speaking on the occasion, said he was happy for having joined hands with the Bethany Foundation, and appreciated the Bethany Sisters and the Bethany Educational Society for the vital contribution they had been making in the transformation of the society.
