Mangalore: District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) police who had arrested Interstate robber, K R Santanam alias Chandran alias Antony aged 47 years on June 13, 2012, presented him in front of the media at the Superintendent of Police office, here on June 19.
Addressing the mediapersons SP Abhishek Goel said that the DCIB squad had arrested the Tamilnadu based K R Santanam in Kannur and recovered one and half kilogram of Silver, 70 grams of gold, one mobile phone, a gold weighing scale, gas cutter, electric metal cutter and a laptop,total worth Rs. 3,50,000.









Santanam rented a house in Kannur Kerala and was involved in various theft cases. In 2003 he was involved in temple theft case and was arrested by the Moodbidri police later he was sent to Mysore Jail for 3 years. In 2007 he was released from Mysore jail. In 2010 -2011 he was again involved in a theft in Puttur area-- the Vittla and Kasargod police had issued a warrant against him.
The team under the guidance of SP Goyal, ASI Anuchet, DCIB Inspector Vinaya S Nayak and Puttur Police inspector Sudarshan with DCIB team members Sanjeeva Purusha, Chandra Adoor, Udaya Rai, Taranath, Palanivelu, Vijaya Suvarna, Mohammed Iqbal, Ritesh Kumar, Shantha Shetty, Devayya, Puttur crime division PSI P Ithappa, ASI Gopal Naik, PC Devadas, Radhakrishna, and Krishna were involved in the investigation.
Goyal also said that Santanam was planning to rob a bank this season. They have also recovered the stone which he was using to break the locks. |
