| | Mangalore: Controversy at St Aloysius - Former Vice Principal Clarifies |

Mangalore: Speaking to Mangalorean.com, former principal of
St Aloysius P U College Prof John D'Silva clarified that the college had
supported the protest of anti-corruption. "If 200 students had taken part in the
protest, why had the college not remarked negatively on the rest of the
students' conduct certificates?" he questioned.
Throughout the course, Bindu's behaviour was erratic in and around the
campus. He was involved in many communal activities. He was well-versed in
creating communal clashes within his class and within the college. Therefore, he
was 'used' by the ABVP, with a communal agenda. His performance in studies
declined drastically after joining the ABVP, he said.

When asked as to why the parents were not informed about his 'unsatisfactory'
behaviour, D'Silva said that his mother had visited the college several times in
the second year of PUC. "Bindu was disobedient to his parents as well."
"I tolerated and did not dismiss him with a view to giving him a chance to
improve, which, however, proved to be in vain, " regretted D'Silva.

Dear Pramod,
Your post makes no sense. Please try again.
In your opinion, I can't comment on anything that is older than me? Also, how am I creating friction when I have actually supported the rights of college ? |

Mr. R Pai,
Aloysious College is older than you and created more than a Lakh of successful students - without regard to Religion, Caste, Creed or Gender.
Your comments are immature and uncalled for and it shows your poor analytical reasoning.
Looking forward to sane discussions avoiding egoistic and clouded judgements from you at least all the way from secular USA!!!
Good Wishes to you and sincerely Please Return to India and invest in public service here - Do not give political statements creating friction and communal distrust!!! |

"If this student wants to be a activist as part of ABVP, then he should quit studies and be a disciple of Anna Hazare." - Alfie D
Dear Alfie,
I guess your statement may make St. Aloysius College very uncomfortable as they seem to be suggesting a different reason for the actions in the press release. A College can’t decide what you do outside the campus as long as you are not representing the Institution, right? What if they start new restrictions tomorrow on your language, dress, food and religion that you follow? However, they have all the rights within the campus. |

| As a old student of St Aloysius I can very much say that my alam mater is a institution which strictly believes in character of the students, rules and regulations, ethics and good behaviour in the campus. If someone goes against these guidelines and rules of the college, then they are liable for action from the management. So what are these protesters demanding? If this student wants to be a activist as part of ABVP, then he should quit studies and be a disciple of Anna Hazare. You go to college to learn, and not to involve in untoward matters. I only hope the management of St Aloysius will stick to their decision already taken on this student, and not change it. The student is at fault. |

| People schools, colleges to study and educate yourself. if you love to perfrom, Terrorism, communalism etc do it outside the campus and let other to study. Too much love of communalism will put this young kid on street soon. As this boy grow older as adult who will take care of him which turn himself like Dawood Ibrahim. |

| This is a good move by St.Aloysius college. If these details are true, as I have mentioned in my post yesterday, College certainly has the right to give him the poor rating. I am only hoping that they had given warnings in written form during previous incidents - This would further justify their version of the incident. |
